How it goes

    Register the business with the State

    Confirm zoning with Planning

    The Planning department confirms whether your use is allowed at the address and what review the site needs.

    Schedule county inspections

    Building and food service inspections are handled by Wilkes County. Building inspections(opens in new tab) and food service inspections(opens in new tab).

  4. 04

    Set up water, sewer, and trash

    Finance handles utility accounts. Commercial trash may be collected by an outside provider rather than the Town.

  5. 05

    Apply for any town licenses

    Beer and wine licenses and special permits are handled at Town Hall.
